First of all- stp typing lyk dis - It makes you look stupid and not wanting to put in effort.
And being blunt, you stand no chance AT ANY of those colleges, try reading some other chance me threads to get an idea of what kind of colleges you can get admission in.

btw, by any chance did you go to the national debate competion at Cambridge School Noida?

Your SAT 1 score is too low. Proficiency in English is a must and TOEFL doesn’t mean much since it’s considered easier and often has little correlation with an applicant’s CR score, which predicts a college applicant’s proficiency in English much better.
Sorry, but no. You could still try state universities/take a gap year.

@Robot - sorry about the typing … Slow net speed mobile … But take it your way … Hmm even I understand that I could have slim chances.
As for the debate; sorry I never attended it.
@Eltanin - well indeed TOEFL was easy … Bt i ws preoccupied wid all sorts of ECs right before the SAT nd on top of it my school examinations clashed with the SAT ! I have mentiond this in the additional info sectn hope they take it into account.

There’s no substitute for academic excellence. Grow up, there are a million kids out there running companies, doing research on cancer, topping high school tests AND doing well on the SAT. All you have are “school exams”? Do you realize all Indians deal with this? You better have done something worthwhile in your ECs of national/int’l level at least, to justify this.
Don’t make excuses and end up making a fool of yourself. It can work against you. All you can do is chill. Adcoms know our country’s education system, if this “clash” is considered significant, they’ll take it into account.
Edit:
Oh you did report it and make excuses already. Whoops, missed that. Well what’s done is done.

Very low chance

@eltanin - wel as for the ECs , i ws the centre topr at the International physics olympiad ( by IAPT- i jst hope i make it to the national level list) … Participated in the International Quanta festival of science and International Computer sci festival COFAS ( no success!) …

No. Sorry to put you down, but no. You don’t seem to have perspective. There will be people who’ve WON the IPhO. I’ll leave you here, in case you are trolling.
But your essays, assuming that you aren’t as bad at English as you seem to be, could turn the adcoms’ decision in your favour. It’s a crapshoot for the Ivies, so we can’t judge you, as we haven’t seen your entire application and we don’t know it’s context. You can’t do much. Just relax and focus on your boards.

As for the explanation; wel my schools career counseling dept. had suggested that its better if i give a explanation for the low SAT1 scores becoz they may take the good SAT 2 scores into account and could understand that there must have been some problem … (my mother suffers from deppresion and I have to look after her for a better part of the day … Changing the world does nt mean you run cancer institutes etc … Tutoring evn 1 poor child can do loads of good) … Its nt the level but the passion behind the work thts the satisfying part :)

Hmmmm I do know that … I Hope the essays work …

I agree and that is exactly what I said, if you read between the lines. You could have written a great essay on it and it could work. But do you think a college will admit a weak student who isn’t even proficient in their language of instruction, especially when that admit means rejecting 9 other students ? There is always someone better than another, there’s always room for improvement. All I’m saying is that you won’t find re-assurance here with those scores and your data. I feel for you and your mother as a fellow human but in the admissions process no one cares, especially because sappy stories about dead pets/grandparents, parents’ divorce/illness are too common. Unless it translates into a meaningful experience in a well-written essay, it means nothing, which is also why researchers, academic achievers and community service people regularly get rejected. The world(including college, employer, CC) doesn’t care about where you come from. What matters is what you bring along with you and how you present it.
We are all in the same boat. Good luck.
Edit:
Very few Indian counselors understand the US apps process.
SAT 2 scores are quite irrelevant as 800s are omnipresent.

Wel i had picked up the first topic on the supplement - person who inspired you the most - its was on how inspite all her medical complications she has inspired me and has transformed my outlook to life … How she has conditioned my temprament and has gifted me my subtle being … I hope it works …

It will definitely

Thank you sigtus … But as eltanin said … Its a crapshoot … Lets see …

Center topper in IPho…there is only ONE ‘‘center’’ right??

If that was a dig then here’s one - only sm1 with an IQ lower than the room temp. Would ask such a ques.
I will appear for the next round, all is not done yet. I hope I am able to clear the next level as well.

Well that wasn’t a dig really…and even if it were…you should look at what you write before accusing others of having low IQ’s…have you have even noticed…what you got through is called the NSEP…and not IPho…go look through and post reliable info…
Hope you clear second level and best wishes anyways

^ Haha @quiver!! :D

@the OP - So here is how it works, the Ivies have this “holistic admissions” process which makes people think that despite a low SAT I, they can still get in. Statistics show that each of the Ivies probably accept 20(roughly) students a year on average with a SAT I below 2000. Who are those 20 students? Recruited athletes, Innovators/Researchers, URMs, unusual applicants… Can you be one of those ~20?? Math will say yes but then your chances are too low!

The holistic admissions starts only once you get to a 2200+ because at that range - you have 5000+ applicants with 4.0s,800s, 2200+ and you can’t be rendering a decision based on scores at that level.

Just to give you an example- I have a way way better SAT I, similar SAT IIs, a bit low on the internal marks(high class rank but school rarely awards 90%+), better ECs and lets say equally good essays. But 3 months ago when I posted a chances post on the chances forum - the response I got was that you’re “Good, but not good enough”!! Further on, every year a lot of 2400s, 4.0s get rejected from HYPDetc. !! Why?? Because out of their applicant pools of ~30000, 28000 are top students from all around the world - each with “stellar” essays, “stellar” grades, “stellar” recs, “stellar” standardized test marks!!

I don’t mean to put you down or something, and actually my general advice is not to post chances threads after the application process as you can’t change much anyway!!
But this is just to get you prepared for the “probable” rejections!! You might get accepted(no one can really put a finger on the admissions process) but I’d suggest you look up other safeties & such!!

All the best (all this assuming you aren’t a ■■■■■!! Haha!!!) :D

Now tht i hv assed thngs heres d thing - i had posted this for a friend of mine ! He had applied to all ivies … Is a heck of a person at school … The entire school adores him … Some of have a good idea of his persnl problems … He has been pretty anxious over the last one month and the entire class was shokd at the dip in his grades in jan after the app process … We were quite shokd at his low SAT scores … Becoz he is really good … As far as english is concerned … Infact we wil all be really disappointd if he is not able to make it anywhere … I am guessing he has applied to some singapore schools too … I guess its pressure thats putting him down right before the boards … I had suggested him to write it on some forum and get some relief … Bt for reasons unknown he scorns forums (hates FB !!! ) so I had to go ahead … Well i am glad he never tried any … I just hope he makes it even with such really really slim chances … I think he has a fair inkling that he has little chances ( as for that low SAT xplanatn part wel he never gave any :stuck_out_tongue: but he has driven me crazy asking me if he should have given one :stuck_out_tongue: now i knw its good he never gave one  )
