Or feel free to suggest any other colleges I may be good for. Thanks so much!

Granted I’m no admissions officer (I’m a junior like yourself), but I think you might need to lower your ambitions a little. There’s nothing wrong with a 3.46 gpa or a 1940 sat, both are great and a lot better than average. But for the top school’s you are considering they just aren’t enough to make you a competitive applicant combined with your okay ecs. Unless you manage to get >2300 next time you take the sats you will not be a competitive applicant for the schools you have listed with the exception of BU. I would suggest you look at the university of Wisconsin-Madison: it’s got an amazing chemistry program and you would be a competitive applicant based on your scores. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1472674-chances-international-relations-schools.html

Not even Brandeis or UMD? Almost everyone from my school applies to UMD and A LOT of people get in. I’m also pretty close to Brandeis’s stats though I’m not sure. My mom did go there. I don’t know though. I expect my GPA to go up to a 3.5ish by the end of the year. Well, that’s why I asked. Thanks.

WashU, Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, Tufts, Uchicago will not happen unless you get your SAT to above 2200. Even then they will still be mega-reaches.

To be frank, even if you get your SAT up to 2400, Stanford or Columbia will not happen. Those schools are crazy.

Oh, my bad i didn’t realize you were in state for umd, that improves your chances a lot as does the legacy for brandeis. Admittedly I haven’t much looked into either of those so you may very well be able to get in there. Like I said, I’m no admissions officer haha.

^Yeah I should’ve mentioned that

Any other opinions?

Don’t be worried you’ll get in. You have a great r

I would add some other schools in there. Your SAT is ok but I think it’s on the low side for Uchicago not sure about the others. I would take the ACT this year. You may do better on it than the SAT. It can’t hurt to try. My son took both and did better over all on the ACT. His math was better on the SAT so he sent in both scores to the colleges he applied to. Also have you looked at the cost of these schools and whether they give good merit aid? I think they all are on the high end…every year there are kids at my sons school who get into their “dream” college but then the parents can not afford the cost. Good Luck!

I have looked into the cost, but in my case cost is not an issue
