chances?

here's another question for you guys:
what SATII's would be best for me to take? Is there any rhyme or reason to which SATII's you should take, or is it merely whatever you can get the highest score on?
There are two german tests, does that mean I should take both?

any answers?

I think the AI index gives a good ballpark number. I would say, for an unhooked applicant, you would need at least a 6 to have a legitimate shot.

(1400, 3x700 and top 1% gives you that number)
(1500, 3X750 and top 5% gives you that number)
(1600, 3x800 and top 20% gives you that number)

Right now idamayer, you are looking at a 4. Without significant SAT and rank improvement, you are only looking at a 6, tops. Unfortunately for you, many colleges will not weight the writing portion too heavily.

isnt pomona the same as claremont mckenna college??? just like harvey mudd is part of the claremont mckenna college

they are all connected (claremont colleges) but they are technically different schools... I would only apply to one or maybe two of them, but I havent decided which one(s)

Icedragonad... I dont understand... what AI and where? what do you mean a 6? please explain? I'm sorry if it is a stupid question.

I think Icedragonad is talking about this:http://collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm

"isnt pomona the same as claremont mckenna college??? just like harvey mudd is part of the claremont mckenna college"

no no no. harvey mudd, scripps, pitzer, pomona, and claremont mckenna, make up the claremont colleges. harvey mudd and pomona are NOT part of CMC (clar. mckenna).

We're so number-oriented here....: /

ohh ok i see....

hey, I have only just started and have not really gotten into them, but I am going to start volunteering for the HRC (Human Rights Campaign) and working part-time programming for a really small company (C# whee!)... would this have any sort of dramatic effect on my admission chances?

(i feel really bad doing this, but i want an answer to the above question) bump^^

Okay, I got my actual GPA and class rank the other day...and it was not so great...

i am 38/353 (38/188 in my magnet) GPA: 4.08w, 3.8uw

what does this mean for my chances at: Brandeis, Brown, CMU, Grinnell, Haverford, Rice, Stanford, Tufts, Yale, U of Rochester, Oberlin, or Pomona ?? ...

thanks
