Chances?

I am going to apply to UIUC next year.
My sat Jan score is 1370+600=1970.

I am going to apply for engineering.
Though, I am taking SAT once more in june. but I just wanted to know..
if I can get in with 1970..

can you guys tell me?

oh.. by the way.. my gpa is above.. 3.7
also I am international. I am thinking of priority.

Class rank (which you don't provide) and test score are two most important factors. If your school does not rank, they will estimate and look at diffiuclty of classes taken and grades. In-state and out-of-state (including internationals) are evaluated on the same basis (i.e., you don't need higher rank and scores than in-state). Middle 50% range varies somewhat from year to year but approximately the top 12% to top 4% class rank and 29-33 ACT or 1320 to 1480 SAT (they are not using the writing score yet for admission). Those numbers also vary somewhat based on major chosen with computer eng, electrical eng, computer science, chemical eng, usually having a bit higher ranges. If within the middle 50% range, you have a good chance. Helpful, particularly for engineering, is to have completed math through calculus, and biology, chemistry and physics. Essays also need to be good. Recommendations are given little to no weight. SAT II's are not considered for admission. Financial aid is not provided for internationals, who have to submit a verification that they can cover the college costs as a condition to admission.

Do they look at WEIGHTED or UNWEIGHTED GPA? Will they recalculate GPA, or just look at the number on the transcript and thats it?

my gpa is unweighted..;

Once again class rank is the important issue not whether grades are weighted or unweighted. If school does not rank, they will look look at your grades, difficulty of program (how many honor and AP's or IB's) and estimate your rank and consider quality of your program. It is not an issue of weighted or unweighted. If unweighted they consider that in estimating how high they place you and if your school weights they consider that in doing so. In other words the fact that you may have, for example, a 3.7 average from a school that does not weight, does not mean you will be considered worse than someone who has a 3.9 average from a school that does weight.

my school does not rank... and since I am International.. our school does not offer any AP and IB....I took Physics B(score5) last year and I am planning to take Macro/Micro, Chemistry, Calculus BC.
my intention is not to brag.. but my school is one of the most prominent and competitive high schools in Korea.. Then.. what will affect my grade?

I will raise my sat score up to 2150+ I hope ..
