waiting to hear from BC and cornell RD.

That's unbelievable how you were deferred EA...I had an SAT 180 points lower and got in (no hook).

I don't see any way you don't get in RD.

wow. . .that stings. . .but congratulations. . .

thanks

i dont see why you wont get in... impressive stats, plus youre a mets fan so thats a plus in my book if i were the admissions person, haha good luck-

hahaa thanks

lets go mets

You are a very strong candidate from what you have listed. However, your geographic location could be working against you. BC not only had a record number of applications this year, but they are usually overwhelmed with applicants from NY, NJ, MA, and other northeastern states. Unfortunately, your chances are probably being weighed with the strength of the other applicants from that area. Make sure that your counselor is doing all he/she can to be in touch with BC. You don't seem very confident about he/she writing you a good recommendation--have you talked with him/her about that, and about following up on your deferral?? On the up side, BC does reject many students during EA, so you are still in the running--Good Luck!!

Yes, If that is in fact the case, I am screwed. . .I'm from a NY county that has some of the smartest kids and best high schools in the country :(

Stop fussing over the state residency stuff, I applied from NYC.

yeah many people i know from nyc got in with much lower stats (some with 1200 range sats); maybe bc really analyzes essays, recs and other factors besides test scores and grades

Deferred early with a over a 2100? Wow.
Anyway, yes I think you have good chances. Your SAT score was almost 300 points better than mine and I got in EA, I had a solid EC base and I believe they look at that very seriously. I think you will get in RD but it is competitive. By the way, I go to a Jesuit school so BC has a great repuation at my school and when the Admissions Director came to visit someone asked if they were going to take into account the number of people who applied from our school or area and he said that "your application will be considered against what we are looking for and the rest of the application pool rather than the students from your school or area," I hope that helps. By the way, 9 kids got in from my school last year and we have 6 so far, so I hope your not too worried.

-Al

BC emphasis (besides alum relation, money, and those trivial things)= Essays, EC's, !Community Service!, I believe the fact that I incorporated my community service into my essay ( which made me stand out), it might be a big factor in my acceptance.
