Major: computer science
Uc/csu gpa: 3.77
SAT 1220/1600 currently but most likely going to increase to 1300/1600 or higher in October
Cal poly doesn’t really look at other stuffs so yeah… And how is the job prospects for a computer science major in cal poly pomona?

Bump---------------

That gives you a CSU index of 4236.

Assuming you are in state, you should sail into Pomona and every other CSU - except SLO which considers more factors. You may be a good candidate there too.

Nice work.

Apply to 4 or so, just to cover your bases.

Ooh!! Aha ok thank you very much!

Does anyone else know if i have a chance in cal poly slo as well with my stats? Major will be BRAE

I wouldn’t say you’ll sail into Pomona. They just impacted Computer Science either this year or last. Unlike other CSU campuses that designate all their majors impacted, Pomona really means it. They reserve the designation for only highly impacted majors. Check out their requirements below.

Computer Science had an acceptance rate of 57 percent last year.

You’re right. Hmm i should improve my SAT SCORES!! Thank you! Woah

According to this, in 2012, a 3.6 and 1166 SAT were average for their most competitive major. It may drift up a bit but with a 3.7 an 1220, you should be fine. There’s no harm in taking the SAT again.

SLO is a different animal and considers many different factors, including your freshman year grades. The specific considerations/requirements vary a bit by major. Take a look here for all you’ll need to know.
[Undergraduate Selection Criteria - Admissions - Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)

[Student Profile - Admissions - Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)
That link will show you the freshman class profile for SLO and should give you a feel for how you fit. They include some different factors so, it can be a black box - just because you have the GPA/test scores, doesn’t mean you are in.

With the stats posted above, assuming your freshman grades are in line, SLO is a reach. If you are really interested, take the SAT again and apply. Really prepare well for the test. As you can see from the table, you’ll need a 1400+ to make up for a GPA deficit.

As I said above, SLO’s admission proceess can be unpredictable. Apply away and good luck.

On the website for bioresource and agriculture engineering department, the stats for 2010 are: BRAE Major
Ave GPA = 3.69
Ave Reading SAT = 558
Ave Math SAT = 611
Ave Composite ACT = 24.9
I am sure going to retake the test but i
Don’t think its going to be reach though?

Do i have a shot with at cal poly pomona with computer science?? I submitted my apps today in the morning
