Chances?

Can someone please help me? I want to know if I have any chance at getting into the Boston University RISE program this summer (summer after junior year in high school). I am also considering attending BYU Provo so if you could match me to that too great! :)

ACT: 33 (math 31, English 35, reading 34, science 33)
Haven't taken ACT

4 on AP Bio test freshman year, 5 on AP Statistics test last year, taking AP Chem this year

Interested in neuroscience, particularly cognitive and physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy and autism.

Interested in research

Volunteer at local hospital, special olympics, and peer tutored special needs students.

Involved in church and other community activities

Have an after school job working the after school daycare center at my school.

I really want to get into this program. Does anyone have any information about it too (cost, what it's really like, is it good to attend?)? Thanks!

I have no idea about RISE but, if your GPA is in the 3.7+ range BU is a low match… in which case you can aim higher.

bump! :)

“We consider applicants who are entering their senior year of high school in 2013. Admission is based on a combination of high school grades, rigor of courses taken, standardized test scores, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation.”
You need to provide your GPA in your post, but your ACT is clearly competitve for such a program. Given the competition of such summer programs, I believe that much of the admission review process will depend on your essays and recommendations–somethings that we on CC cannot review ourselves.

I’m not really sure about my GPA, but I think I have around a 4.0. I got all A’s last semester but my school’s scale is kind of weird.
