Hey everyone. I hoping to get some feedback on my chances at a top universities like Georgetown, Duke, and Stanford.

Probably a good to great essay
1 great rec and 1 good rec

i think even for african american a 1360 +610w won't cut it for Stanford, Gtown and Duke Maybe, unless there's something you are hidding from us, based on this list, i would have to say no :(
(put your rank, that'll help more :D)

if i took the ACT and scored in the 30s would that help my chances?

P.S. - thanks for the reply newbyreborn

also, my school doesnt give rank

i think that u may have a shot...Im african american too and my school doesn't rank either. I think you SAT is fine because that fits into the 25th-75th percentiles of most of the schools that you are applying to

aight thanks candyman

I think your chances at Georgetown are relatively good, maybe 60% or more. Stanford is probably only 20%, and Duke might be around 35%.

thanks...are there any other colleges that i should look at, im interested in business (my parents are big on prestigious schools, so economics at a prestigious school would also work)

please, more responses

raise those scores, and i'd say good chances to top schools

might wanna re-take the 580

Your SAT II scores are too low, as are your APs. If your school offers the opportunity, you should definitely take about 3-4 more AP courses before you graduate. The more 5s you can swing, the better.

Also, your SAT scores are a little low. I would suggest 2100+ for Stanford and Duke, but you might be able to swing Georgetown with your current scores.

My best advice to you would be to investigate "safety school" options. If your plan is to go into business, a specialized school like Babson might be a good fit. Otherwise, what about American University or George Washington? Just remember to keep your options open.

has anyone here heard of jsa...a summer program and does it look nice for applications?

im thinking about applying early to stanford. would that help at all, or are my SATs, APs, etc. too low. also, would my extracurriculars help make up for my slightly subpar academics?

thanks
