Chances :))))))

I hate these too but....

Weighted: 4.52
Unweighted: 3.92

SAT: 2210
Math: 800
Reading: 750
Writing: 660 (bleh bleh bleh... dat 7 essay -_-)

SAT II
Math 1C: 800
Chem:800
US: 790

APs: 14 total (13 AP classes)
5's on Calc BC, APUSH, AP Chem, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Language and Comp and AP Euro
3 on Music theory (psh)
Planning on taking AP Stats, AP Comp Sci, AP US government, AP macro, AP Lit, APES and AP Psychology

Clubs: (a tad bit lacking)
Math team (officer)
Science Team (vice president)
Robotics Team (member)

Extra Curricular: Competitive swimming, chess, cello

Live in-state

Yep.

it depends on your major, so what’s your intended major?

Most likely double in Electrical and Computer Engineering

I’m also taking college calculus-based physics classes but I’m not sure if that helps

Looks like a good chance, but why did you take Math 1 instead of Math 2 for the subject test?

Check [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) to see if your college physics courses articulate to any of Physics 7A, 7B, 7C at Berkeley. If they do, they will transfer for subject credit, allowing you to complete your lower division courses more quickly and give you more schedule flexibility.

Technically you wouldn’t be a double major, you’d be EECS (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) which is just one major.

I don’t know freshmen admissions, but it looks like you’ve got a pretty good shot.

Ah My bad I took Math 2 haha

Just wondering, would the 660 on my writing look bad? Or does my 5 in AP Lang cover it up a little?

AP scores don’t cover up any SAT scores (never!), but a 660 is not that bad, you still have a good composite score.

Apart from college credits, do good AP scores mean anything?

http://academic-senate.berkeley.edu/sites/default/files/committees/aepe/hout_report_0.pdf</a> page 40 suggests that good AP scores have some correlation with read scores (note that lower read scores are better, so the negative numbers indicate favorable effect).

EECS is very, very competitive. I would recommend you clearly emphasize a passion for engineering in your essays AND demonstrate how (through engineering awards, honors, etc) and why your passion is to do EECS.

Unfortunately, it’s very hard to judge your chances; I know a very smart friend who applied to EECS last year with a 2370 SAT, 4.0UW/4.7W GPA and was outright rejected (his appeal was also rejected). It really is a crapshoot :/
