Chances

Ive posted before, so sorry if this seems annoying, i just really want to go to Clemson

I am from New York. I attend a top 100 high school in the nation.

29 ACT
Haven't taken SAT yet because football conflicted, but am taking in December.

GPA Super low because of freshman year Un-Diagnosed ADHD, but huge upward trend, and without freshman year my GPA is 86 ish, with it is 83.1. I'm hoping the upward trend helps, and the undiagnosed doesn't completely bone me.

APs: US History (4), and Statistics

Varsity football 2 years, Skiing 2 years, Track and field 3 years, Cross country 1 year. Varsity club 3 years, chess club 2 years, tutor for kids with special needs 2 years, job for 4 years.

I want to go for engineering- I've taken 2 engineering classes and gotten high 90s in both.

Be brutally honest, and please give me suggestions as to what may help me or where i could go. Thank you very much!

ALSO
being from new york, can anyone tell me how different it is down there. ive visited, but never lived done south. and how is greek life?

I went to a top 100 high school and had an 85-ish GPA BUT I also had a 34 on the ACT and I’m guessing that helped me out a lot. Definitely improve your grades and test scores if you can. You’ll need all the help you can get. You have a shot but I wouldn’t say your chances are too great at the moment. Even with your upward trend, your GPA is still below that which Clemson is looking at so you definitely need to get your grades up. Get all the help you can to do that.

Being from Boston, the south is VERY DIFFERENT from the North (though you probably knew that). Your question is really general and I could probably write 10 pages but if you have any specific questions or concerns, let me know and I’ll try to answer them. About 25-30% of the student population at Clemson goes greek. It’s not as big of a deal as at some schools in the deep south like Alabama or Ole Miss but it’s still a sizable population. It’s only 25-30% of the population which means 70-75% of the student body isn’t greek so it’s really your choice what you want to do.
