For a while Columbia wasn't really in the running for me, but recently I've decided that it's the top (at the moment...I change my mind about these things quite often), and now I'm a little more anxious about my decision than before. Here's what I consider important...

SATs: took them once, got 760 math, 790 verbal, 800 writing
SAT IIs: took World History once (790), took French (670, 700) and Math 2 (740, 780) twice

I'm not exactly sure about my GPA, but here are my grades:

9th grade: all honors classes, all Bs except an A in history
10th grade: all honors classes, mostly As with one B in academic classes
11th grade: all IB classes; econ: A; math: A; physics: A/B; English: A; French: B; history: A
12th grade (first quarter, second quarter; midterm grades weren't sent; again, all IB classes): econ: A/A; English: A/B; history: B/B; French: A/B; math: A/A; TOK: A/A

I'm an IB diploma candidate; last year I took the SL physics test early (that's why I took two physics classes in 11th grade) and got a 6. Math is Math Methods SL, French is French B SL, history is History of Europe HL, English is English A1 HL, and econ. is Economics HL.

I spent 11th grade in Romania when my mom moved back (she's Romanian, I'm half Romanian). I went to the American International School of Bucharest (all English-language education with the IB curriculum), but learned near-fluent Romanian while I was there. I don't have many major ECs, but my interview went really well and my essay was about Romania's economic/political transition from communism to capitalist democracy, with the broader implications for the former Eastern Bloc. I was a National Merit semifinalist (I have since advanced to finalist standing, but I guess it's too late to notify Columbia; there's no point) this year.

Anyway, thanks.
