my grades aren’t anything special, if anything low. but my extra curriculars are a lot. but i do have a lot, which might make it seem why the grades are average. i know BC is most likely a reach school for me. but i love their economics program. and i just wanna get in so bad next fall.

is it even worth applying? reading that i feel pathtetic now.

Of course its worth applying to, becuase you never know. You seem to have some good volunteer work, emphasize that. Take the SAT's again, im assumign you took them early junior year, do some prep, take them again, it cant hurt. Since your applying next year, colleges will take into account your writing score, which is bad. Maintain an upward trend in grades, thats a big plus, and will most definatly get your rank up. Try to get into, if not then near the top 10%. End up with one or two EC's that you would like to emphasize on your app, keep in mind that BC loves volunteer work. Your ethnicity might work for you, keep in mind NYC has some tough competition for BC. Have strong essay's! They are the only way BC can 'meet' you. Apply Early Action, dont get discouraged if you get deferred, its quite competitive. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.

P.S. Stay away from these boards, their hazerdous for your health, wait till late junior year to come back and ask away college questions. Or be like me and not think about college until november of senior year :) . And Watch BC vs DUKE in the ACC championships tomorrow on ESPN. Check local listings

i actually took the SATs in january. but i think my ranking will be higher, since its already top 20% with an unweighted average, and considering how many APs i've took/will take that will imrpove it a lot. thanks for the encouragement. reading these forums have freaked me a bit, but its helped me find some other schools that are better suited for me, so thanks.

If you can raise your SATs to a 2000+ and continue to improve on your GPA, you should have a good shot at BC. What college did you take your "college courses" from? If you got As from a prestigous school, it will boost your application.

i took pre calc at a SUNY school, and french at adelphi. not really prestigious schools, but they were taught with an adjunct proffessor and the real college professor would come in once a week.
