I won a full scholarship for summer study at Brown University two summers ago (Joyce Ivy Scholar/Brown Partnership Scholar) and I have some academic awards through my school (history, literature, choir)
Other:
I conducted primary research for a case study of the impact of religion on LGBT activism in metro detroit. I did interviews and went to a lot of LGBT Pride events, interviewing activists who were Jewish or Catholic. This came together in a 4,000 word research paper. My adviser is also my principal, and he wrote me a recommendation based on his experience helping me with this study.</p>
