Chances?

Sorry, I know this is annoying but I am very worried about my chances of getting into UW. UW is my first choice. My grades are not bad but what really worries me are my very low SAT scores, I can't seem to test well at all. I am an Asian female from a very competitive private school (does not rank students, 84 people in my class) and I hail from California, so I am out of state.

GPA: weighted 3.92, unweighted 3.64

SAT scores (taken three times):
Reading-630
Writing-640
Math-620
total=1890
Subject test: Chinese Lit 760

APs(current): AP English 12, AP Envi Sci, AP Art History, AP Cambridge Capstone 12*

APs/honors (that i have taken): AP Chinese (9th grade), AP English 11, AP US History, AP Cambridge Capstone 11*, Chinese 5 honors (10th)
so including this year's APs I will have taken a total of 8 APs in my high school career.

*Cambridge Capstone is a course by Cambridge University (in the UK) in conjunction with Collegeboard. Only 15 schools in the world are doing it, it is a 2 year global perspectives course that requires me to send research reports and projects to Cambridge University for review. I took the AP test for this and received a 5

I am part of Chinese Honors society, I was on honor roll all 4 years

ECs:
Varsity Equestrian (4 yrs),
Varsity Lacrosse (4 yrs),
Varsity Golf (2 yrs),
Writer for school literary magazine (4 yrs),
Robotics (1 yr),
Tech Captains (1 yr),
Leader of Christian club (4 yrs),
community service (helped disabled children learn to ride horses*, spent summer before 11th grade in China teaching elementary school kids English)
Spent this summer doing an internship at a travel company in Taiwan
Orchestra 2nd chair violist (4 yrs)

I think my letters of rec will be good and so is my essay.
*whatever i have starred is what I put down in my application (since it only allows 5 ECs)

I am applying to UW as an industrial design major and hope to minor in either Writing or Art History.

If anyone has any honest feedback it would be much appreciated!

You’ll be fine. Your SAT is around the average and you have great grades and extracurriculars. Just write a good essay.

The only weakling in your academic career seems to be your SAT score which might I add is not the worst anyone has ever done on SATs. College admission committess look at your scores and then your overall personality and then make their decisions accordingly. The Cambridge, UK, thing looks impressive and new. It should go in your favor. So If I were you I wouldn’t panic and hope to receive the good news. One thing that you must not do is self-censor. Like when you decide on your own that you aren’t good enough for UW and decide not to apply to save yourself from rejection. You will never get into UW unless you apply.

First off, I have no idea what the previous posters are talking about. They obviously haven’t seen the published statistics from UW as of late.

Your GPA is below average I believe, but your course rigor should compensate nicely for this. Basically, I’d say your GPA shouldn’t be a problem in terms of admissions, but it isn’t going to help you a ton either.

Your SAT score, assuming it is a single sitting (UW doesn’t super score), is actually above the published average. Additionally, the average SAT score for UW is slightly inflated because it includes the SAT scores for Intl. students who usually need to score higher to get admitted.

Your ECs seem somewhat generic but not bad.

Write some solid essays and I think you are in good shape. I believe you will get in.

I just realized that I read your weighted GPA as your unweighted GPA. Yeah your GPA is below average.

DId you get in?
