<p>I applied to Yale EA and it hit me today that with a 16% acceptance rate expected,the probability of anyone getting accepted isn't that great. And with the rest of my list made mainly of Ivies, I really need a good match/safety school. Everyone tells me that I'll definitely get into NYU, but I just want to make sure. People sometimes forget just how great of a school NYU is...especially the French program (intended major).</p>

<p>Here are my stats: </p>

<p>SAT= 1540
SATII= 800 Writing/780 Math 2c/780 French/770 FrListening/770 US History
Rank= 2 out of about 500</p>

<p>Essays= solid, unique (I think)
Recs= one great, one good
EC's= Siemens Semifinalist, National Merit Semifinalist....the rest are pretty good</p>

<p>i wouldnt say definately into NYU, It's ridiculously competitive this year, with the ED average SAT score well over 1400.....you def have like a 98-99% chance of gettin in tho, so it would be a good safety, ivys are rough, i had a 1520 sat, and 3.9 unweighed gpa, and decided not to risk ed'ing an ivy and then not gettin into NYU Stern.</p>

<p>yeah..thanks for the reply...if i did get in, considering I'm applying to the regular college and not the competitive Stern school, you think id get any scholarship money??...and i assume you got into Stern...congratulations</p>

<p>If you are interested in business, you ought to apply to the School of Social Work. It's only second to Stern in terms of popularity and competitiveness.</p>

<p>Are you sure about that, Kjayson? I have always though CAS was second with the competitiveness and first in popularity, hence the population.</p>

<p>no KJ is absolutely right. SSW for business. Also consider SSW for music. You aren't misleading anyone.</p>

<p>The School of Social Work is an interesting school.
You can double major at any other NYU school.
Some people double major in Social Work and Finance at Stern.
That is why it's so popular and surely it's the crown jewel of NYU.
You will love it, and please, apply to the School of Social Work!</p>
