Chances? :)

Hi! Okay.

I would be applying out of state (Wisconsin) if that changes anything, and I'm currently a junior. My GPA is around a 3.78, last time I checked. I got a 29 on my ACT, which I'm taking again in June. I took one AP in each my freshman and sophomore year (Lang was my sophomore year, I got a 4 on the test). I took AP Lit and AP Comparative Gov this year. I'm taking AP Psych and AP Environmental Science next year. My grades have been on an uptick since a rough freshman/sophomore year (due to anxiety/family issues). I'm involved in my school's GSA (president next year!). Next year will be my second year as editor of my school paper, and third year involved. I play roller derby outside of school, and I'm involved in my school and local library.

My school is kind of weird, but it's leadership focused. We do longterm independent research projects (on topics we choose), which supposedly schools like.

It’d be nice if we could hear more about your course load. First, being out of state is definitely a plus, UW has been accepting more out of state residents and less in state residents for financial reasons. Your GPA is in a good place and your ACT would be on the higher end of typical applicants. It sounds like you have some decent extracurriculars, but again, it’d be nice to hear more about your courseload to see if you are taking any other AP or IB classes. Based on what you’ve shared so far, I would say you have a slightly higher chance than most applicants, but you still have to work for it.
