Chances

Hi!

I am a rising senior and was wondering what my chances would be at the following schools and potentially if there would be any merit scholarships I would be eligible for: Brown, Gettysburg, Loyola University Maryland, Lafayette, Juniata, Washington College, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Mount St. Mary's, Wake Forest, and University of Maryland.

Stats:
ACT - C- 32 E- 33 M- 29 R - 30 S - 35 (writing score is not available yet)
GPA - 3.95 (unweighted, my school doesn't weight)
Rank - n/a (school doesn't rank)
Will have taken 7 AP classes (English Lang, Environmental Science, and U.S. History in Junior year and Biology, Calc AB, English Lit, and French in Senior year)
On the honor roll - 9, 10, 11

ECs:
JV Tennis - 9,10, 11 (#3 doubles freshmen year, #1 doubles sophomore year, #1 singles junior year, and co-captain junior year) ---> will continue to play senior year
Volunteer with adults with developmental disabilities - 10, 11, 12

Environmental science internship - 10 (completed a vast variety of soil tests, designed our own experiments in groups, and published our findings)
Internship with an internal medicine specialist - 12

Thanks again!

Am I correct in guessing that you’re a Maryland resident? If so, all the colleges are in the low-match to safe range for you other than Wake Forest (mid-to-high match) and Brown (high reach). Are you looking for scholarships? Otherwise, it’s a curious list, albeit rather refreshing after seeing so many reach-heavy lists from other students. I’m just surprised that you haven’t included Temple, Pitt, Fordham, Villanova, Lehigh, GWU, American, and other colleges that are strong matches for you academically.

Yes, I am a Maryland resident and hoping for a bit of scholarship money. I’m also mostly looking at smaller liberal arts schools. I plan on majoring in biology or possibly double majoring with biology and environmental science. I’ve had trouble finding match schools that I think would be a good fit.

Have you considered either Ursinus or Muhlenberg? They are both smaller liberal arts colleges with great biology programs that you might get some money from…

Okay! I will definitely look into them. Thanks!
