Chances?

Yes, I'm a rising sophomore, and yes, these stats are purely hypothetical. I don't know whether some of the things on here will actually happen; but I have a good guess. Most of these are the most probable chances based on earlier grades/competitiveness of activities. I'd just like to know about stuff based on this resume. The ACT and SAT test scores are based on a diagnostic test I took earlier; I might get higher scores, I might get lower scores. I won't list hypothetical AP test scores simply because I've never taken an AP test before, so I have no idea what they're like. But I do know which classes I'm going to take, and the relative difficulties of those classes. I don't know whether I'll be a National Merit Scholar, but I certainly hope so. Extracurricular years include senior year.

The only class where an AP is possible but I will not take it is APUSH; at my school, the course is infamous for giving out next to no As and taking up an extraordinary amount of time--time I won't have with my extracurriculars.

School Stuff:
Unweighted GPA: 3.9
Weighted GPA: 4.2 (only weighted honors classes are Honors Precalc and Honors English 11; I will have taken all Honors courses possible, however)
UC GPA: 4.5
Class Rank: N/A; my school doesn't rank
AP Classes (grade in parentheses): AP Computer Science (A), AP English Language (B+), AP Physics 1 (A-), AP Calculus B/C (A), AP Gov/Econ (A-), AP Biology (A-), AP Chemistry (A-)
AP Tests (besides those for the classes listed above): AP Physics C, AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics
Weighted Classes (besides AP classes): Honors Precalculus (A), Honors English 11 (A-), Spanish 3 (A-; concurrent enrollment credit), Multivariable Calculus/Linear Algebra (A; concurrent enrollment credit)
College classes (besides concurrent enrollment classes): Psych 101 (A)
ACT: 35 (36 Math, 36 Writing, 35 Reading, 34 Science)
SAT: 2290 (800 Math, 740 CR, 750 Writing)
SAT Bio: 780
SAT Math II: 800
School Type: Large, highly competitive suburban public (CA)

Extracurriculars:
National History Day: 3 years (made it to States every time; maybe Nationals at some point? )
Model United Nations: 4 years
Robotics: 3 years (not sure which competitions; probably FTC and FRC)
Art/Literary Magazine at middle school: 5 years (staff member: 1 year; assistant editor: 1 year; writing editor: 3 years)
Journalism/School Paper: 2 years (maybe one of the editors senior year?)
Computer Science Program: 1 year (only allowed to do it for 1 year)
Tutoring at Homeless Shelter: 3 years
Colorguard: 3 years
Biotech Club: 4 years
3D Printing Club: 3 years
Neuroscience Club: 3 years
Bollywood dance: 2 years (1st place in several competitions; I may do it a bit longer, but I probably won't have time)
(I'll probably do internships/research/summer programs of some kind (definitely applying for some next year), but at the moment, I'm not going to list anything for sure)

By the way, take all this with a grain of salt. I'll never know whether any of this will actually happen. But I tried to make it as realistic as possible, mostly based on past experiences. Some of the extracurriculars are there for sure; others are not.

But assuming all these statistics are 100% true, chance me for:
UC Berkeley (Engineering)
UC Davis (Engineering)
UCSD (Engineering)
Stanford
Harvey Mudd
Caltech
CalPoly SLO
CalState San Jose
Santa Clara University

I'm staying in-state for sure--I'm not even going to apply to anything out-of-state. So... yeah. I just want to know what to aim for for the rest of high school.

Based on your predictions, i think you’ll qualify for a majority of the schools you’ve listed. Since you’re a CA resident (bay area I’m assuming) you’ll have an easier time getting into the UCs. I’m trying to get into Stanford myself, but it is a reach for everyone, unless you do something extraordinary. Scu and cal state are probably safeties. Cal poly, cal tech, Harvey Mudd are low reaches/reaches.
You still have a lot of time, try focusing on your major.
Good luck!

Because the stats are purely hypothetical, my chances are given in terms of target scores.

Stanford: Reach
Harvey Mudd: Reach
Caltech: Reach
Santa Clara: Aim for 26+/1800+
Cal Poly SLO: Aim for 28+/1950+
San Jose State: Aim for 25+/1750+
Berkeley: Aim for 32+/2150+
UCD: Aim for 29+/2000+
UCSD: Aim for 30+/2050+

Cal Poly engineering 2013 actual averages :

Act 31+
Sat 1388+ (out of 1600)

You will need a Lot higher scores for stanford, caltech, cal, harvey mudd.

Ucsd is comparable.

The previous post is off by a lot.

Oh, I made a slight mistake up there–I’ll be taking AP English Literature; my school doesn’t offer AP English Language.
