Chances?

<p>Hi, I'm a hs senior in maryland, and I'm really worried about getting into UMD. Can someone please tell me my chances?</p>

<p>GPA- 3.72(UW); 4.20(W)
Class Rank- 58/554
SAT Score- 1920(C); 670 math; 640 cr; 610 writing;
ACT Score- 32(C); 29 math; 33 english; 32 reading; 35 science</p>

<p>STEM Magnet Program since 9th grade
16 Honors Courses; 10 AP courses; 10 STEM courses(most of which are also Honors courses); 2 Post-AP courses
Principals Honor Roll/ Honor Roll
AP Scholar with Honor</p>

<p>Work Experience:
-Internship at JHU Applied Physics Lab summer of 2014; invited to continue internship into the school year of 2014-2015 and starts in october; summer portion culminated in a successful presentation
-Assistant Dance Teacher</p>

<p>Leadership:
- Tutor at local middle school
- Assistant Dance Teacher ( I take indian classical dance) over 100 hours over past 2 years
- STEM Ambassador at school
-Robotics Assistant at Sunday School Summer Camp</p>

<p>Volunteer Experience:
- Part of Hindu American Seva Communities (which is federally funded) and assisted on writing a book on the most important hindu holidays
- Youth Volunteer at Sunday School Summer Camp (did over 600 hours over the past 5 years)
- Read to the Elderly at Mayfield Nursing Home in the fall of 11th grade
-Sandwiches for the Hungry at my Sunday School, which were given to Maryland Food Bank</p>

<p>I really think you shouldn’t worry. Your test scores are good and you’ve taken a very rigorous course load. Assuming that your essay and recommendations were also good, I believe you are in. Possibly even to honors or scholars. Honors seems to like students that take a lot of AP courses. Ten is a lot. My daughter had twelve AP classes and a little higher scores and stats, and was admitted to honors with presidential scholarship. I think you have a shot at either of these programs. Good luck!</p>

<p>Do you know when Maryland is coming out? My son applied for EA and we have not heard one thing. We are OOS. </p>
