Chances?

I'm from out of state (Florida), and unsure about my chances for UVA, Cornell, Vandy, USC, UCLA,, and Georgia Tech.

I'm in the IB program at school, and have a 4.0 unweighted GPA (All A's) and and 4.98 weighted. Taking a tough schedule (all academic classes are IB, except for 1 honors Physics course b/c my school doesn't offer AP/IB).

2130 SAT (710 CR 690 M 730 W)
SAT II Chem/Math 2 TBD

Varsity Soccer Team, soccer club team captain, JV basketball, Cross country team, restaurant employee (12 hours a week), Math, Science, English, National Honor Societies, attended engineering leadership conference summer of 2014 at Georgia Tech, several service projects including a month trip to Ecuador the summer of 2013.

3 AP tests taken: World History (4), Language and Comp (4), APUSH (5)
AP Scholar
Top 2% of county students

Future plans: chemical or materials science engineer

UVa low reach due to low SAT and OOS but your GPA suggests that you are very smart.
Cornell-Ivy league. Crapshoot for everyone but worth shot. Would be better with higher SAT scores.
Vandy-low reach due to SAT score(CR+Math for middle 50% for last year was 1490-1600) but again, your GPA and course load may compensate for it.
USC-match
UCLA-match. Don’t bother applying if you can’t pay 55k. year.

Do you have any awards? Your GPAs are stellar enough to compensate for relatively low SAT, but having some significant awards may be even more helpful.
So far, you don’t have any safety in your list. Do you have a back up plan?

yes, being from florida, I’m applying to both UF and FSU, which are safeties. I am also applying to Georgia Tech, where I believe I have a decent shot of getting in.

GT shouldn’t be hard to get into. Good luck!
