Hi, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my chances for Early Decision to Washu next year.

ACT: 32
SAT II: Math IIC 800 Planning on taking Chem and US History
GPA: 3.98
Extracurriculars: Speech Team, Scholar Bowl, Key Club, Math Team, History Fair, NHS, Model UN, Student Senate

My school only only offers ten AP's. By the end of my senior year, I will have taken 8 AP's. I live in a rural part of IL and am Indian (Asian).

i'd say you've got a chance, but that's just speculation.

if i were in your position, i would pull up the ACT. honestly, i hope you've gotten into leadership positions and found a passion for something.

o yea... visit WashU, and do an interview while you're there.

if you apply ED, you're in

I strongly, strongly disagree with Jeffwun.

I have friends with 34+ on ACT and 2250+ SAT who were waitlisted.
They were RD, but still.

If you look at the ED decisions thread for Wash U, you'll notice that their stats on average seem higher than those of RDers. Why? Because Wash U tries to rope in the best applicants it can by legally binding them to the college.

washu is a bit odd with their admissions... if you're going to apply ed, you have fair shot (though not guaranteed) since you're promising enrollment, something washu is very concerned about

EDer's stat is a little bit lower than RDers
bacause most EDers think that the school is their first choice but their stat seems to be lower thatn average...so to raise their chance significantly...

Well, maybe I shouldn't say you'd surely get in, but I think you would. Applying ED would def show interest which I think gives you a big boost. Just apply and see what happens :-)
