Chances

<p>Hey, just got deferred from Duke Engineering...yeah it sucks, but i gotta assess my chances to other schools, so hit me straight...</p>

<p>...i applied to the school of kinesiology at UMich
SAT I: 1430 (800 M 630 V)
SAT II: 730 Physics 710 IIC 600 Writing</p>

<p>GPA: 4.1/4.5 unweighted (like 3.8-3.9 outta 4.0) 5.3/6.0 weighted
AP's: Senior year- Calc BC, Physics, Studio Art...Junior year- Calc AB, US History
Senior Honors Classes: English, Statistics, Spanish</p>

<p>EC's: 2 year Captain of Baseball Team, 4 year letterman...President of Alternatives Club (anti-drug club)...Captain of Quiz Bowl Team....then the regular stuff, volunteer club, mock trial team, etc</p>

<p>Awards: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, NJ Governor's School Semi-finalist, NJ Bloustein Distinguished Scholar</p>

<p>Reccomendations: pretty good
Essays: ehh, decent i suppose</p>

<p>-they recieved my app the last week of novemeber..semi-late i suppose, hoepfully that wont hinder my chances too much</p>

<p>You applied in November to the school of Kinesiology with a 1430 SAT score, 3.9 GPA...you have a good chance of getting in.</p>

<p>What I am curious about is why you applied to Engineering at Duke but kinesiology at UMich? I hope you don't think you can get into engineering through the back door. I know someone who tried to do this and he had to reapply.</p>

<p>You should have applied to Michigan engineering. You would have gotten in anyway.</p>
