Chances?

I just sent in my application for GWU ED-1 and the Honors Program and I’m curious what chance I have for getting accepted.

SAT Critical Reading (Superscore): 680
SAT Math (Superscore): 590
SAT Writing (Superscore) 570
SAT Total (Superscore): 1840

2 AP Tests Taken (3 on AP Eng. Lang and 4 on Gov)
Taking 5 AP courses this year (Physics 1, Eng. Lit, US History, German, and Psychology)
Weighted GPA: 4.56
Class Rank: 36/315

Activities:
Business manager of Newspaper (Current) Editor in Chief past year, copy editor sophomore year, and writer freshman year
Mock Trial (Junior - Current)
NHS (Junior - Current)
DECA (This year)
Chess (Junior - Current)
Volunteer Work: ECA (Freshman - Current)
First Baptist Church Youth Group (Junior - Current).

I think that’s everything.

I think you have a great chance getting into the University in general. With respect to the Honors Program I can’t really say as I don’t have a whole lot of experience with that program.

Good luck!

@buzzybee99 Are you applying for the Class of 2020? You say that you’re a junior but mention taking things junior and senior year. If you are, in fact, applying right now, I’d say your chances are at or a little above average. Your stats are pretty good and you’ve got a variety of EC’s. I don’t think your admission essay will be a make-it or break-it thing, but be sure that it shows your interest in the school. Your visit, the potential interview, and applying ED will help.

If you’re not applying for the Class of 2020, it’s a little early to say and I’d recommend continuing on your path of school and community involvement. GW likes to see academic rigor, community involvement, and a strong desire to attend GW (how you show that is up to you).

Also, next time you should start your own thread in the GW forum instead of piggy-backing on someone else. It’ll help more people see your question and potentially give you more feedback.
