Okay so I'm only in 10th grade and I'm in a predicament ... I take a strong courseload (The best available most of the time), but my grades are mediocre at best. I know its a bit early, but does anyone have any ideas to 'beef up' my trascript?

I'm really interested in PreMed, Economics, and Business in general, but I haven't really decided what I'm interested in yet.

REACH
UPenn (ED)
Georgetown (EA)

REG
Rutgers
NYU (?)

Also a few questions ...
1) Does ED or EA really make a difference in acceptance rate? Or is it just that more qualified people apply ED/EA?
2) Do colleges look at weighted or unweighted GPA?
3) For extracurricular activities, should I list the things I do at church? Like if I went on a church to help underprivledged children in ... say NYC.
4) If you apply to one school ED, they reject you, can you try again regular (just curious)?
5) If you apply ED, do senior grades count at all?
6) Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

1) Does ED or EA really make a difference in acceptance rate? Or is it just that more qualified people apply ED/EA?

Both. Some EA pools are more competitive, while others you have a plain better chance than normal.

2) Do colleges look at weighted or unweighted GPA?

Unweighted, along with class rank and courseload rigor.

3) For extracurricular activities, should I list the things I do at church? Like if I went on a church to help underprivledged children in ... say NYC.

Yes.

4) If you apply to one school ED, they reject you, can you try again regular (just curious)?

If they 'defer' you to the regular admissions pool, you can wait for RD results. If they 'reject' you ED, you're rejected for good.

5) If you apply ED, do senior grades count at all?

If you're showing an upward trend, they matter more to see if you keep it. They also use it to see if your maintaining a level of performance. It doesn't count as much as junior year in admissions.

6) Any suggestions?

Beef up your transcript with a better GPA :P Generic, but true. Good luck.
