Hi,
What are my chances at competitive universities such as Harvard, Stanford, Duke, Penn, and Yale.
ACT- 34
GPA- 4.0 weighted, 3.8 unweighted
Extracurricular- Founder and President of the Entrepreneurship Club
Developed a startup which has partnered up with 40 local businesses.
The app has over 5000 downloads
Spent summer of sophomore year pitching a social media network to a variety of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists…Currently patent pending.
Thanks in advance!
Stats look competitive although there’s going to be a lot of kids with perfect GPAs and perfect ACT/SAT scores that will be rejected so in that sense your GPA and ACT are on the lower end. ECs while limited seem interesting. I think one of those schools will accept you, but you could also be rejected from all of them. Admissions at these caliber schools is such a crapshoot as long as you understand that no one has a good chance at these schools you should be fine. I hope you have some safeties and matches.
Here’s my guesses (again that’s all anyone can do)
Harvard: Reject
Stanford: Reject
Duke: Accept
Penn: reject
Yale: reject
Understand that you could do everything perfectly and still be rejected from these schools so with a GPA on the lower end for the schools you’re interested in and an ACT score that really won’t move the needle one way or the other rejection at all 5 is possible. Best of luck to you!

I would say you will likely be rejected from Harvard, potentially be accepted at Stanford or Penn and likely accepted at Yale and Duke. Best of Luck!
@hssenior27 @bdhyea97 Thanks! How about schools such as Wash U, UMich, Vanderbilt, UVA, and Cornell?
I think you would have strongest chances at Wash U, UMich and UVA. I think it would also be likely you would get into Vanderbilt and Cornell as well.
It depends on your home state cause UVA and UMich are so competitive OOS that being said I could see you getting into both and maybe the other 3 as well! You have put yourself in a great position for admittance to some great schools congrats!
