Another thing I forgot to mention – make sure to get really good recommendations.
@midwestatheart Thank You for all your help! If you don’t mind, which school are you attending?
Sure thing! I’m actually going to my state flagship for financial reasons but I got into UCLA, Berkeley, and WashU which is why I know so much about this process.
@midwestatheart Wow nice job! What major are you pursuing?
Improve your test scores and you have a solid chance!
I would say rice is a match. Your extracurriculars are good, and your grades are good too. If you believe you can score like a 35 on the ACT, I would recommend retaking it; however, your essays will make the biggest difference now.
Agreed. While your SAT Reading and ACT composite is on the lower end, that still means roughly 1 in 4 applicants got admitted with similar scores. You aren’t from Texas, which always works in you favor with Rice.
Concentrate on your essays, show passion for Rice, and I’d say admission odds look promising.
@Renomamma Do you think my scores are good enough for the College of Arts and Sciences?
@bernie12 Does Emory look at demonstrated interest?
@topschoolsapplicant I can’t do an on campus interview, so do you know how to schedule a local alumni interview?
Yes I do. There are no guarantees but I think your scores are right in line.
@therealdeal23 : No…
Hey guys I bumped up my ACT to a 34 composite ( E: 35 M: 34 R: 34 S: 31) and a 35 superscore (E: 35 M: 34 R: 34 S: 35). How do my chances for these schools look like now after taking these into account?
