Chances???

Hi, I would love to attend the University of Minnesota. What are my chances? I have a 3.174 GPA and a 24 Act. I know my Act score is a little low, but I plan to take it again next month. I attend a very well known high school in Tennessee that is a blue ribbon school. Every class I have taken is Honors, and I have 2 dual-enrollment. I participated in Cross Country, Track, Teen Court, and Beta Club. I am an Eagle Scout and have over 100 hours of community service. Any chance???

Also, I would like to attend the College of Education.

@sdsupride here are the current stats for admitted students by college. Your current ACT is within the mid-50th percentile for CEHD. Re-taking and improving on that score will really help your chances. Do you know your class rank?

I say you have a shot, especially given that you are in honors classes but try to get that ACT up as high as possible to offset the relatively low GPA. Not sure what dual-enrollment is. Eagle Scout is a great achievement - congrats on that! Should help you. Also, fyi, males are a bit under-represented in the Ed. college so that should hopefully help as well.

Good luck to you!

Mamelot Thank you very much. Dual-enrollment is like AP. I can earn college credit at the community college at my town while in high school. I plan to take it again and score at least a 26.

A 26 will really help your chances. And your dual-enrollment might help you transfer some gen-ed credits so definitely look into that.
