this is basically the qualifying round
many many people applying to berk have the same stats as you
just giving me numbers isnt going to give you an in but you sure have some good numbers
its really the extra stuff that will get you in now, so if you could list some unique things about you i might be able to go over it a little better</p>
<p>I'm sure this isn't unique: I'm mixed race, first generation American and college student, family headed by single parent.</p>
<p>I don't know how much that will or should impact my chances.</p>
<p>I do not have any unique EC's, I have participated in ATDP at Berkeley and Summer Sessions at Berkeley, but they caution that that will not give any special advantage in the admissions process.</p>
<p>I was under the impression taht Berkeley and UC's play the numbers game strictly. 90% GPA/rank and scores and 10% other crap. The 90% gets you in the door for your other 10% to be evaluated. That's how people have always explained it. It'd be a shame, I think I have some unique essays.</p>
