Chances

Looks like UCD admitted about 68% of applications recieved. I bet that next year, their admit rate will be lower since 900 more students sent in their SIR then anticipated.

UCI and UCSD also experienced this problem but not to the extent that UCD did.

I didnt mean to start such a big debate haha. However, around 20 kids from this years senior class are going to UCLA and i think like 5 to cal (out of 120 in the class) I know its a huge amount. And there is also the fact that having a high GPA like above 3.9 is extremely rare at my high school. So, does UCLA and/or Cal take into consideration the applicants high school they are coming from and if so how?

Yes, they do take it into consideration. First of all, if you're in the top 4% of your high school, then you will be designated as ELC and that helps a lot in the admissions process. Also, they do factor in the rigor of your school. They do not look at rankings, however they do look at how many AP/Honors classes your school offers and if you took advantage of them. Also, they assign seperate admissions officers for each county and these officers specialize in all the schools in their county and they can tell how competitive your school is.
Good luck
