I will have excellent essays and rec's and possible alumni/donator connections to the schools i apply to.

I would like to know the best school I have a chance at.
I am most likely going to end up at University of Miami but would like my other options. Thanks a lot to everyone that help.

I am hoping to get into the accelerated Med. Program as i aspire to be a Plastic Surgeon. If not i am unsure of what i will put as my major, but something that has to do with pre-med. If i can i would double major in business and my medical major.

I'm not sure Caltech would be right for you. People in this forum will tell you that you must be very interested in math and science to be happy at Caltech. Naturally, only you know how interested you are in math/science, but I just don't get that impression from the courses you've taken.

Also, if I were you I'd take less honors in eleventh grade if it would allow me to take more APs or college courses in subjects I was interested in. I don't like to spread myself so thin that I can't dig very deep into anything. Honors Physics AND Honors History. Why not general physics + an AP history, or general history + AP Physics? (or an AP in one and honors in the other if you can handle it)

Caltech may not be the best option (even if you get in) if you want to do pre-med. It's somewhat hard to keep a high GPA at Caltech.

Plastic surgeon and Caltech just don't seem to fit together. Regardless of your chances, Caltech probably wouldn't be right for you.

Thanks for the insight. I only posted this to see my standings, To the post above, I would do taht but at my school you must excel at the honors level before you can be placed in an AP course.

"I will have excellent essays and rec's and possible alumni/donator connections to the schools i apply to."
Hopefully this won't boost your chances at Caltech at all.
And I'd be curious to know how you got such high scores on your PSATs, considering that 240 is the max score.
As to whether or not Caltech would be a good place for an aspiring plastic surgeon to come, a cursory glance at the last 356,539 threads posted in this forum would inform you that Caltech is tailored for scientists and mathematicians.

im sorry for posting here. Didnt mean to be met with such hostility. I convert my PSAT scores to the SAT equal. Sorry if you didnt catch that one mr mathematician..

You can't just "convert" scores. While the PSAT is intended to be indicative of SAT score, there is no simple conversion chart. If you post something labeled your PSAT score, it should be your PSAT score, not something you "converted".
I'm sorry to come off hostile, but looking at just the first page of these forums I see the following topics: sat scores for caltech, Grades Vs. Passion, does your freshman gpa really matter?, Caltech Value GPA?, High School Courses, and admissions question. Even if you didn't want to bother reading those, you could've just posted a reply there (since your question practically the exact same) instead of starting a new thread dedicated to yourself.
And honestly, do you really expect an overwhelmingly positive response to a comment like "I will have possible alumni/donator connections to the schools i apply to."?

my apologies

halfthelaw: don't forget the thread "Acsl, Arml, Hmmt, Maml, Amc/aime"

Keep in mind that this poster is from Miami, home to many plastic surgeons. Nip & Tuck ( a TC show) supposedly takes place there. Caltech is not as well known as other universities. The OP may not have realized that it is hard to earn a high GPA at Caltech which is necessary for med school. U Miami has a 6 year med program, & it may be a good choice for him.

I hope you don't mind me intruding, but exactly what difference does it make? It's not that hard to take out a 0 and get the original PSAT score. And simply because there are lots of threads regarding chances doesn't mean everyone doesn't have the right to start their own: someone else's chances aren't always relavent.

I agree, of course, that chances threads are silly, fairly useless, repetitive, and a pain; but we are neither obligated to read nor respond to them.
