Do I have a chance of getting in LMU with:
GPA: 2.95
SAT: 1260
ACT: 21
Rank: 106 out of 406
Are you a senior waiting to hear back? Or a Junior thinking of applying?
Either way, I suggest looking at the Common Data Set to see what your chances are. You’ll be able to see the stats of who applied and who accepted, and then determine where your stats fall in terms of the real numbers.
The only people who can actually tell you if you stand a chance are the people in admissions, and my hunch is they’re all pretty busy right now!
In my opinion, if you have a reason for your low GPA then you stand a chance. I say this because I know of student who applied to a school with stats similar to yours, and was accepted to that school (school with similar acceptance stats as LMU). I was shocked when I heard what the actual GPA was, BUT this student had a VERY valid reason as to why there was a dip in their grades. Additionally, this person had a full resume of activities, and was a very strong writer. In other words, the GPA didn’t reflect the full picture. Good Luck!
