I appreciate your honest comments. Be brutally honest, not just brutal. =)

Great chances...I can't see anything missing...even though those are some tough programs to get into, I'll say that you'll get into about 2-3+

good luck

uh wow, with those scores, you have excellent chances at all thos programs. Just dont mess up the interviews.

I know my scores are good enough, but what is really gnawing at my mind is my lack of ECs. Will that kill my chances? Or do I still have a good chance if I can do well in the interview and have decent essays? Anyone with experience in admissions in these programs have any tips?

sai2004 what school do you go to? in california

it's in san jose, lynbrook

hey sai2004...do you know hikaru2005..wink...your lame

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=202366

You are even more lame for harassing me about that thread I made. True, its bad to make another thread, but there was one particular individual that instead of telling me how to improve my chances simply called me an ******* who is just here to brag. He, along with some other individuals, filled up the thread with insults so I decided to make a new one. Sorry if it offended anyone that I made another thread.

Sai2004...I am the last person you wanted to offend in order to rate your chances to med school programs out of high school. My sister got accepted to 6/7 programs she applied to. And she wasn't spectacular either....1400 (old) SAT and normal GPA. What got her into all of these medical programs...you'll never know nor guess why. :) Good day sir!

Yawn. Very amusing. Even if what you said was true, which is highly unlikely, I doubt you would have told me anyways after your first comment.

buddy...what I say is 100% true. She got accepted to 6/7 medical programs she applied to. My prediction for you is that you will get into 2 or 3 out of 10 programs <--assuming that you apply to that many. But...you would get into all 10 if you knew the basis for which my sister got into them. When my sister got accepted to all these programs, my parents. siblings, and myself were shocked, considering that applicants with 1550 - 1600 SAT's were rejected. But she got accepted for one sole reason, that of which you will not find out. Now she has one year left in school, and afterwards she will be on to med school. Congratulations to my sister. Good luck in getting rejected from med admit programs. :)

oh and btw...the only EC's my sister had was being a member of literary magazine. NOTHING ELSE. MUUUUUUUUUUAHHHH. No matter how hard you guess and try, you will never ever guess why she was accepted to so many programs. GOOD DAY SIR

saiman, chill- u got a greatchance at all the programs you apply. i know u want more than that but we aren't the admissions committee. ur scores have given u a giant step forward to making it into those programs but it won't be ebough. specifically, u lack in your ec's. u seem to have no medically related ec's and no interest at all. i would try working on gettin some hospital volunteering and bio research, etc. done. the programs have tons of people applying with ur scores but they'll only choose the ones whom they think to be interested in medicine.

plus, with those scores if u don't express enthusiasm during the interviews needed for all the programs ur automatically out. from the classes u took and ur interests ion ec's i'd think ur into math/computers.

to sum it up: great stats, below avergae ec's, no interest in medicine

my PARENTS talked with the ADCOMS to the programs. They know exactly what they are looking for.

Med786: get a life.

i dont care if you believe me or not. What I say holds truth..and I WILL get into these programs when my time comes .. HOLLA

Yeah, I've been thinking about an internship, but most decent ones are already over. I guess I will just have to shine at the interview if I get to that level. Although my passion hasn't been so firm in the past, I am starting to feel like medicine is the lifelong path for me. Thanks for all your comments, except med786.

To collegefreak87, it does look like I'm into computers and math, doesn't it? I actually detest math and computers, but I had to take the amc and aime since the calc teacher made it mandatory. Well, you will need it for premed at some schools. 1 year chem, bio, physics, and compsci/statistics/or math.

Thanks for your comments. As long as I try my hardest, I will have no regrets even if I fail to get into a prestigious medical program.

hey MEd786 what is ur graduating year, like when are u applying to these programs

and what are ur stats???????????????????

It's not too late to get clinical experience in medicine. Shadow doctors, volunteer at the hospital this fall if it's too late for the summer, volunteer at nursing homes, adult day centers, etc. There's so many opportunities out there; you just have to look for them.

sai2004:
What grade are you in?

i'm a senior in fall

ALSO BIG QUESTION,

Will being able to run 3 miles in 18 minutes, do 20 pullups, and 100 situps in 2 minutes be worth anything to med programs or colleges?
