Blunt as it sounds, your SATs need a boost to get out of Lehigh's mid 50th% range. Math -- definite boost. Lehigh has no posted range on its students that have taken new SAT, so I can't comment on writing. I heard Dean of Admissions say that strength of academic background was biggest factor in Lehigh's admissions.

If you put your scores and grades in any of the college finders, like at collegeboard or Princeton Review, does Lehigh come out as "match" or "reach"? If it's "reach", then it will take more work on your part to convince Lehigh why they need you.

Another person who posted a response a while back said Lehigh really does take into account your interest in the school. Advice was be sure to register with the admissions office every time you visit.

Any family alums?

Are you recruitable in crew? That will give you a boost.

For class of 2010, Lehigh received over 11,000 applications for 1100ish slots. I think they wound up overenrolled. I don't know if that will make them more skittish for your class.

Be advised. Lehigh is very stingy with merit aid. My daughter was candidate for valedictorian at her high school and got NO merit aid from Lehigh.

You have a very good chance of acceptence in my opinion but your chances for receiving any merit money are very slim. Your SAT is fine, the median SAT for the class of 2010 was 1310. They didn't factor writing into admissions this year but I haven't seen anything about next year. If Lehigh is your top school, you might as well apply ED if money isn't an issue for you. If it is, like it was for me, Lehigh was pretty generous and covered nearly 100% of my need.

Lehigh is a great school and everything but when it comes down to it, it's pretty much an ivy-reject school. You don't need to be #1 in your class with a 1550 to get accepted.

yeah i dont need any merit aid... or any aid for that matter. Thanks for the responses... and yeah im probably just going to send in my ACT score (33) because i believe it "translates" into a 1450 or so?

What types of stats do any of you think would be necessary to receive some relatively sizeable merit aid? The more I learn about Lehigh, the more I like it, but without some merit money I doubt I'd be able to attend..

I agree, your ACT of 33 is very high, actually I think it translates a little higher, to about 1480, so unless your SAT retake is much higher, your ACT alone and top 10% imo will get you in though Lehigh can be unpredictable.
