So… what do you think?? What could I change to make sure I get in?

How is that GPA low when the average American University GPA is like a 3.2? How do you calculate GPA anyway.......my school just uses plain numbers I've been guessing.

4.0 95-100%
3.5 90%
3.0 85%
2.5 80%
2.0 75%
1.5 70%
and so on...
hope that helped w the gpa conversion.. they have one on princetonreview.com if you want to check it out

u probably have a good chance. u have more aps and work experience than i did, and a slightly higher sat. my gpa was higher, but im pretty sure there are people who got in with that range gpa.

Im no expert, but i think your SATs, work experience, and ECs will definitly help admissions overlook your GPA. I think it would be safe to say you have a fair chance(50/50) at AU.

The freshman class admitted in 2007 had the following stats:
Average unweighted high school GPA: 3.53
Middle 50% SAT I : 1180-1350

You will need a good “hook” to set you apart from other students. Any ECs you have done longterm or with significant leadership? The clubs show you are willing to get involved but few clubs in high school really involve anything more than showing up to a meeting once a week. They will want to see what you spend your time doing outside of school…
