-You’ll probably see this thread in a lot of the other Ivy League School Sections, I love the Ivy Leagues

I could really use some advice! Can anyone help?

Interesting. Your case I really am not sure how to comment on. I have better ideas on more mainstream cases, if you will. This is probably why a lot of other guys have refrained from commenting.

Well I guess in your case of first generation American/college, I would guess you have a decent/good/some sort of shot. I commend you on what you have done- your ECs, challenging school workload, drive... I don't know what the other pool of URMs is like, however. I would hope you have a good shot though :). Hard working people make me happy. Maybe someone with better knowledge on the type of student in your circumstances will be able to help you out. But definitely apply, of course.

It's hard to comment when you haven't really given any numbers. Also, I wouldn't place too much weight on the newsweek rankings, as their methodology is flawed.

I don't think you have a chance with a sub 1950 SAT score even though you are first generation and hispanic.

if I get all A's in senior year and get a 2100+ on the SATs and maybe apply ED, do i have a chance then?

Raising your score 400+ points is insane. Good luck with that.

youd have a better shot but penn wont see your 1st semester grades so the gpa will bog you down. good luck

IF you are first generation does that help you in any way?

so do you think I should apply RD so they'll see my 1st semester grades?

i think you will straight up get rejected if you dont have good grades nor great ec's (even if you are an urm and 1st generation) so to give yourself a legit shot at penn/dartmouth id reccomend rd rather than early.

just my opinion.

alright thanks...i'm going to try really hard and apply RD
