*First to go to college, Parents are immigrants to the US and never attended college.
* Would need as much financial aid as is possible

it's a reach but if you can pull off a much higher SAT score and good SAT2 scores, you should be alright academically. just write stunning essays and you might have a shot.

My SAT II Scores:
-Spanish=760
-US History=660
*is that good enough or should i retake US History
and yes i will bring up my SAT I's and i will write amazing essays.

your stats are below average but under comprehensive review, i suggest playing up the "*First to go to college, Parents are immigrants to the US and never attended college. * Would need as much financial aid as is possible". show how you've overcome obstacles to be where you are today in your essays.

i have a friend who was similarly "disadvantaged" (first to go to college, need fin aid, single parent to boot) with okay stats but got in.

I also have an alumni from UCLA writting one of my recomendations.

no, UC's dont take recommendations into consideration

so i've been studying for the SATs all summer and on the practice tests ive been getting in the high 2000's-low 2100's. If I get a 2100+ on the October SAT, do you think i can get in?

i think your chances are pretty slim to none...GPA is too low even if you have a 2100+ SAT. to be honest it really doesnt matter how many AP classes you take or how high your sat is if you dont perform well in the classroom. i only took 3 AP's (1 during junior year and 2 during senior year) but i managed to get into ucla because i aced every class. your race/ethnicity doesnt matter either cuz of prop 209. UCB/UCLA are going to be superreaches. UCSD is going to be a reach. the rest are probably gonna be a match or safe match.

but then again...you never know? college admissions are pretty unpredictable these days.

with your stats now, you'll be a match at the lower tier uc's.

with a 2100, you'll have a good chance at the middle tier uc's.

no realistic shot at ucla, cal. small chance at ucsd, though being first to college, and income problems would definitely give you some extra points at SD.
