Which UC’s do you think I can get into? Im applying to UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCD but not sure whether to apply to the others like UCI or UCSC? Suggestions…

lolo, what are you talking about?? The UC's DO NOT consider race when assessing an application. Asians and caucasians stand as much of a chance to get into any UC as any other race/ethnicity.

You might find the following info interesting:

All four students graduated from Lowell High SF.

My daughter graduated from Lowell last year with 3.75 UC GPA, 2310 SAT1( 780 Math, 770 Reading, 760Writing), 710 SAT2 Math and 740 Chinese. She had excellent ECs and great essays. She was accepted by all the UCs she applied except UCB. She is attending UCLA and is extremely happy. Her cumulative UCLA GPA is 3.90.

My daughters boyfriend had 4.2 UC GPA in Lowell, 2100 SAT1, 700 SAT 2s, excellent ECs and essays. He was accepted by all the UCs he applied except UCLA. He is attending UCB. He really enjoys UCB. His cumulative UCB GPA is 3.65.

My son graduated from Lowell this year with 4.0 UC GPA, 2070 SAT1 (800 Math, 650 Reading, 620 Writing), 760 SAT Math 2C and 730 Chem. He had very good ECs and just fair essays. He was accepted by all the UCs except UCB and UCLA. He will be attending UCSD this fall, majoring Math and Econ. He has seen UCSD and really loves the beach. He thinks he will excel in UCSD.

My sons best friend graduated from Lowell this year with 3.75 UC GPA, 1940 SAT1, 780 SAT2 Math, 680 second SAT2 subject. He had fair ECs and essays. He was accepted by UCD, UCI and denied by UCB, UCLA, and UCSD. His appeal to UCSD was also denied. Although he doesnt want to, he will be attending USD because his parents said so. He said he would try to get high GPA in UCD and transfer to UCSD.

Since you cant do anything with your GPA now, my advice to you is to study really hard and be well prepared for the SAT1 and SAT2 tests.

if u can't get into UCSD, UCLA or UCB, try UCI. It's a pretty good school w/ nice teachers and pretty cool dorms. And not to make u nervous, but one of my friends who is going to be a freshman at UC Riverside had a pretty high SAT score (2100-ish) and she got rejected from all the schools above, including UCI. Her GPA was pretty low though, (3.1 or 3.2) but still, I was SHOCKED when i found out tad she was rejected. But i'm fairly sure that she was just an exception (even though tad officially freaked me and my friends out about college). But either way, UCI accepted about 50% of all it's applicants. So you'd probably be able to get in. Or at worst go to community college and then transfer or something.

wll ive used http://www.geocities.com/kisasong/UCSDComprehensive.htm and i have 7396 points so i am pretty close. If i can raise my SAT I's from the 1700 I have now..i think i'm good. The 7396 isnt including any life altering events or Working to contribute to family income points b/c i didnt know how many I could give myself. I hope Im not being to optimistic but I have a feeling that I have the points for UCSD...but u cant say for sure.

not to be a downer, but there is no way with your gpa to get into ucla or ucsd . people often miscompute their stats into the ucsd formula. often people think they have above the necessary points, to find out there computation was not the same as ucsd's computation. there is no way a 3.1 or 3.2 would get you into ucsd, especially not with 1700 sat's. even if you raised your sat to 2100, you still would most likely get rejected. i would focus on raising your sat's and try for a mid tier uc like uci, which is a reach, or a lower tier uc, which is a slight reach or match. UCSD's average admission stats are a 4.04, 1950 sat's. UCLA's average admission stats are a 4.12, 2050 sat's. Berkeley's average admission stats are a 4.17, and 2050.

Forget about these:
Berkeley/UCLA: Large Large Reach

UCSD: Large Reach

Focus on these:
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Reach
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Slight Reach/Match

UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD are completely out of the question, focus on the lower uc's. get your sat's up and try to raise your gpa. Best of luck!
