I applied to Penn State for engineering with a 1220 SAT score and a 3.95 GPA and 5.6 weighted GPA. I know engineering is harder to get into. Should I switch to DUS?
Also I applied early action
Wow, 5.6??? I feel like they might overlook the low sat scores if you have a 5.6 gpa.
What grading scale is your school out of?
@jlhpsu 4.0
Your UW 3.95 GPA out of 4.0 should get you into engineering. Your SAT is a little low for Engineering but since that is only 1/3 of the decision, I think you have a good shot.
@jlhpsu Does the major matter for Engineering? Like if I put down Mechanical vs Computer Science vs EE. Or do they consider by the college?
@jlhpsu thank you for your input!
@hunchojack In General, just by the college. But if you have high school computer classes that help with computer engineering etc then that may help you. In general, the more complex the entry to major requirements, the harder it is to get in. But that’s a generalization that has exceptions
