Chances?

What are my chances of getting into Wash U?

I attend a private school with a dual curriculum.
GPA 3.8/4.3 (un-weighted)

SAT I: 680M/620V (I'm retaking it in October, What do you think my target score should be?)

SATII: Math Level 1 690; U.S. History 660 (Should I retake?)

AP: Junior Year: U.S. History; Senior Year: Government, Literature, Economics, and Physics.

I'll have about 100 hours of community service by the time I graduate high school.

My extracurriculars are decent, but nothing great.

I should have really good recommendation letters.

Thanks!

Did you take the old SAT? If so, you should really be able to improve in this long time span.

You should retake all your SATs. You should be sure to study hard for all of them before retaking. If it's cutting it to close, you should focus only on the SAT 1. Study for several weeks before taking the test, and you may be able to raise your score as much as 200 points, from 1300 to 1500.

The middle 50% SAT for Wash U is 1350-1520. Generally, people from the bottom 25% have some amazing hook to get them in, which you (from the given info) lack.

Spend time on those essays as well.

Your ECs, relative to your SATs and GPA seem a little lacking. You may want to develop a plan to fix that--and fast.

I personally was able to raise my score 200 pts + by studying and understanding the test. At the time, it was hell, since I had basically no discipline....but in hindsight it was very much worth it. The whole process was like going through withdrawal.

Good luck, these next 6 months may be the hardest you've experienced yet, but if you play your cards right, everything will work out fine.

I know 3 languages besides English...does that help?

Definitely, if you're fluent.

What's your ethnicity?

I'm fluent in Hebrew and Farsi, and I have taken Spanish in high school (4 years by the time I graduate, so I'm sure that counts as knowing a language)

You wouldn't be fluent with four years.

Hebrew, Farsi, and English are fine.

You play any sports? Not that you would have to on the college level, but that definitely helped me out, I didn't have anything too special (2100 SAT.....well 34 on the ACT helped too, lol).

Hi everyone.

I have a 2000 on the SAT and a 34 on the ACT (35 Superscore).

I am #1 in my class of 23 students, and am president of my school's Student Council.

I am also a starter on the basketball team.

What are my chances of getting accepted into WUStL? If good, then about how much financial aid could I get to help out with my tuition?

Thanks in advance.

Whoopig, i PMed you as I did not want to hijack this thread.
