<p>hmm, I think it's a big strech, even though you said it is like the best high school, your GPA is too low, since UCSB avarage freshman high school GPA is around 3.76</p>

<p>Is that your unweighted GPA, weighted GPA, or your UC GPA?</p>

<p>If it is unweighted, then you might have a chance. It it is weighted or your UC GPA (sophomore and junior GPA with capped weight), then it is going to be a real stretch. Especially if your SAT scores don't change.</p>

<p>Since your parents never went to college, that will be a plus for you. I hate to say this, but being hispanic might help as well. I wouldn't expect a lot of financial aid, since the UCs generally are not known for that.</p>

<p>BTW, although you say that you're from California, the 26th rank school on Newsweek is actually in New York. Being in-state resident helps.</p>

<p>i got in with a 3.3 gpa and a 1950 SAT. so i think you've got a decent chance.</p>
