OK, Please tell me why you keep posting these messages. Read academyadmissions.com and you will know what you need to do. Quit posting these pointless posts. Everyone gave you a plethora of information in all of your previous "chances" posts.

lol true. I was just about to say in my post im addicted. But oh well I cant stop myself from posting these but actually I meant to put "advice" rather than "chances".

It's gonna be a longggggggggggggg year. :D

Some on needs to council the "pilot", or just they need to break the addiction. As I told my son, get out and do something, make your High School years the best that they can be.

Sonis awaiting Prep School in August......Northwestern Prep.....Falcon Foundation Scholarship.

It is an intersting cast of characters here in CC Land. As we watch one generation get thru everything and experience another coming in the new characters are already beginning to emerge.

This on really seems interesting.

I have to Agree with the "Boss."

Who cares about your chances. Apply.
-Cadet Prescott

FutureUSAFApilot- I'm not so sure "advice" is REALLY what you want to hear.
I took the time to review many of your privious posts. (I have offered words of encouragement before.) Stop seeking OUR approval. You have already been told that your stats are looking good.

IMO you lack maturity. I am not the only adult on CC that sees it. There are reasons applicants are interviewed in person. They weed out many who looked great on paper. You admit you are addicted to this. You have implied that "someone in high places" will get your foot in the door. You have said that your GPA is "low" due to varsity sports. You have given at least three different figures (75, 200 & 300) for community service hours. Does the number of hours really matter? Do you REALLY think "brownie points" will help?

btw the 200, 300 were pridicted community service hours and the 75 is my real amount. I very ambitious and feel like I cant do much with my summer except for study SAT, and community service. Im kinda bored actually and I have disregarded my friends because their all scumbags. Thats all.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that you think your friends are scumbags because they don't like you, so the feeling becomes mutual. Having been a silent bystander to all your previous posts and replies, I'd say the CC readership has the same feelings about you as your friends seem to.

I think you have low self esteem, and agree with momof3boyz that you are seeking OUR approval. Unless this changes, which is doubtful, I don't think you have a shot. Even if you gain an appointment, you'll be weeded out by the end of Beast.

Hmm If I had low-self esteem do you think I would be an eagle scout and be a great leader? I have a very positive attitude and I dont think you can judge me by reading my posts. I live by integrity and honesty and also your "guess" was 100% completely wrong. We both liked each other but he shop lifted so I ditched him. Is that so hard to understand that I ditched him because he was going to "drag me down with him". I also think if anything I will make a lasting impression to the interviewer for I am a great speaker. Now could a low self-esteem person be writing all this about himself? thought so.

"thought so" would imply that you think someone with low self-esteem could write that about himself...

thought so means I am justifying my question for "thought so" means Im ending my argument in my favor. Just like if you said "you wanna mess with me!!!! Thats what I thought punk!" :)

Young man, You have missed the point. If you are truely ambitious, how can you be bored? You seem to look at the glass that's half empty when you could look at the glass half full. You can be pro-active an find "friends" that display higher character than your "scumbag" friends. Get out and serve others in your community just for the sake of service. It sounds like you need to validate your service hours.

"Service before Self" Does that look familiar?

You seem bright enough to read with kids that are "at risk" students. Check with your local library or school district. Summer reading programs are always in need of volunteers. I have gained so much insight from the underprivileged children I have worked with. Why do I do it? Because I can. Do I get recognized? No, I don't do it for me, I do it for the kids that don't have parents that can.

Don't under estimate the impact you can have on a young kid. Who knows, you could motivate a young man(or woman) to work hard and become a pilot in our AF one day. ;)

I'm not trying to knock you down! Get up, get off the computer, go out and make a difference in the world! Why?.............Because you can!

PS: You can take the SAT and ACT at any time as often as you want. My middle son took it freshman year with out prep for a benchmark score.

You indicated that you meant to title your post "Advice" rather than "Chances". That being the case, I offered my 2 cents. Be humble and get to work raising your community service hours to your "target" of 300 instead of posting "look at me" messages. Grow up, your personality does not suggest that you are a leader by any stretch. Leaders do not "mess with people's heads on the internet". Leaders do not post statements like "Future Page - looking for brownie points".

For real!

The way you gave me advice was very hurtful because you dont even know me and yes im a little bit immature but so what.

Momof3boyz: Truely great advice thank you so much. BTW, I am a volunteer at my local library. As for college confidential. Im gonna take a little break cya all later.

Future,
You really do sound like you're searching for our approval....
In regards to your congressman---a brief meeting with him/her is not enough. Most congressmen are not part of their nomination review committee. They simply do not have the time it takes. (This I know from discussing the process with a congressman and two members of her review committee) They appoint a committee who scores the apps then sends their top choices for his/her final stamp of approval. This also keeps the congressman from being charged with favoritism/nepotism etc and alienating voters. Instead, YOU have to be the strongest applicant they score or no amount of handshaking/brownnosing will help.
Also, Pages serve in the US House, US Senate or state governing body. Although nominated/chosen by a congressman or senator, they work for everyone there. It is a highly competitive process and Pages spend 6months to a year as a Page. You do not come across as someone who is truly a Page. However, a congressman has people who work just for him but they’re called staffers, interns, volunteers, canvassers, etc. Be careful what you call yourself….. If you don’t know your process and job titles, you will come across as immature and only in it to brownnose (ie you didn’t bother to educate yourself on what you’re doing) If it appears you are exaggerating/uninformed/etc, it will cause the nomination review board to question all of your other achievements as well.
As has been stated before, find what you enjoy doing and excel in it. Quit trying to use who you know or their position. In the end, it comes down to you.

Well said, e776.

Yea, why would I want to seek approval from a "dad" of a cadet.

My friend, the Cadre will eat you alive.

lol nah if I can handle wrestling camp and almost win regionals and also do CAP wilderness survival then I think I can push myself to do this. It will just be a roadblock but not a wall.
