chances??

<p>hey, what would be my chances for the College of Arts and Sciences at UPenn? I would most probably apply ED</p>

<p>I’m an Indian girl, born here in the US, living in CT.</p>

<p>I go to a fairly competitive public school. </p>

<p>Rank: 16/500+ ( that only includes half of junior year, and i know it will go up once the rest of junior year is included, possibly in top 10)</p>

<p>GPA: about 4.45 weighted, about 3.75 unweighted</p>

<p>ACT: 33
SAT IIs : Math II: 780 Chem:770 Bio:720</p>

<p>APs: Took AP Bio in 10th grade (got a 5), AP US and AP Chem Junior year, next year I will be taking AP Calc BC, AP French, AP English and AP Physics (total of 7 aps)</p>

<p>ECs:
RJ at radio station (have begun training, will start to come on air in sept.)
Indian classical dance 9 yrs (many charitable shows, teach younger students)
Piano 6 yrs
Student Council 3 yrs, Head Treasurer, have organized many charitable dances, fundraisers etc.
French Club 4 yrs, President
India Club 4 yrs, President
Volunteer at hospital
Tutored students ages 3-17 at Kumon Math and Reading Center for two summers
Currently working on a summer research project</p>

<p>NHS,SNHS, FLNHS, Williams Book Award, participated in many french, math and chem competitions winning a few titles and awards in french and math</p>

<p>Recs: One from my AP chem teacher who had me freshmen yr for regular chem and AP Chem junior year. Notorious for being a hard teacher, but I got an A in his course, and he is known to write the best recs in school. The other is from my english teacher junior year. She loves my writing and taught at Penn awhile ago.</p>

<p>Essays: Working on them this summer, hopefully good as writing is one of my strong points.</p>

<p>You have the stats, but you have to show them that you are more than stats, but then you have a fair shot...I wouldnt be surprised if you get in...I wouldnt be surprised if you get deferred or waitlisted...</p>

<p>Oh, by SAS I meant the South Asian Society.</p>

<p>And there's no difference between CAS and SAS, although who knows...there may be a bureaucratic one.</p>

<p>The College of Arts and Sciences is a subset of the School of Arts and Sciences which includes a graduate division.</p>
