Um yup that's basically it. I don't know if i got enough for HYP and I still don't know my sat scores so that could significantly raise or lower my chances. I think my essay is going to be pretty good because I'm going to write about how I overcame my struggles at home and how I got my determination from my single mother. Please be honest, I'm open to any constructive criticism and I want to know if i should change my essay topic.
I don't know if I'll get in because my awards and e.c's are nothing compared to most of the candidates I've seen on this site applying for highly selective schools. Thanks for the input

What's the National Honor Society?

Looks rather good to me.. I'm especially interested in that humanitarian award at the swedish hospital -- there's got to be an interesting story there, lol :)

Ace: NHS is an organization that most schools in the US are members of. You apply for membership based on your GPA, character, service, etc. and the club itself usually does fundraising activities to donate $$$ to charities or volunteers to do whatever is needed in the community. At least that's how my school's NHS works.. I've been part of another NHS (in a different school) which was basically dead, lol. It all depends on how the individual school decides to run it.
