I am a Minnesota resident and a high school senior with an unweighted GPA of 3.32 and an ACT score of 29. I want to get into the college of liberal arts. I have taken 5 AP courses. I have lots of volunteering hours, I play basketball, have a part time job, and also am apart of a school club.
Please let me know your thoughts.
My son’s HS has about 100 applicants to tOSU a year, so our Naviance plots have a LOT of data points for tOSU. We are in-state, and I can’t speak for different standards for out of state applicants, but students in our HS that do not have at least a 4.0 are told to make sure they have a safety. Last year, none of my S20’s friends with a GPA under 3.9 were accepted. Most of his friends applied to the engineering college, though. A good guess that A&S is a bit easier.
Your ACT is not bad at all, but according to our Naviance, tOSU relies heavily on GPA. Is your weighted GPA higher? Wish I had more positive info for you!
The Naviance for our school is all over the board (college prep, oos) so hard to tell. My daughter applied to OSU as a reach school, and kids with her exact stats were 50/50 accepted; always hard when you don’t know what major they are applying to.
