Im pretty sure UI is a big reach and any input on my chances, possible imrovements, or other recommended schools (major in business) would be appreciated.

what the hell is it w/ people in majoring in business all of a sudden.
yea sure you got a good chance b/c of the eagle scout thing which shows leadership and they really want leadership.

i agree with u i have seen a lot of people majoring in business..Its usually #1 on most popular majors for colleges that offer it. personally i chose UIUC because of its business school.

since your from n.y. why don't you like NYU? business school is just as good. plus if this one girl I know could get a $25k scholarship you probably could.

Well i know that NYU has one of the BEST busines schools. I just think that its even more out of my reach than UIUC. I figured UIUC is a little less selective (even tho im OOS), so Id try there. Do you think i have a chance at NYU?

OOS isn't any harder than in-state at U of I. Apply to NYU if you want to go there, not if you think you can/can't get in. Pick a school based on what you want in a school, not based on the rankings. NYU and UIUC are two totally different places.

bring up the SAT by about 200 points

to taffy, i understand that i should not be applying to schools i can merely get into, but i see it as both a waste of money, time, and hopes to apply to places like NYU. Id rather apply to schools that are realtively within my reach. I also understand how different some of the schools i am looking at are, and thats because i could survive at urban/suburban, big/small schools, etc. I have no preferecne in that way, just the schools that i think i like and is competitive in my field.
