Please respond honestly, thank you for your time. let me know if you need/want more info

your first generation stuff will help in the admissions process, especially the first generation college student. your gpa is fine but your sat score is below the middle fifty percent range. with a combined cr and math score you only have a 1280 and this puts you in the bottom 25% of admitted students. i would def advise taking the sat at least one more time to try to get in the middle to upper 1300 range. you have alot of ecs but they seem a bit random/scattered. usually the adcoms like to see a focus in the extracurriculars and, if you have one, you should really try to bring that out in the essays. show them what you are passionate about and it will help you. since you say that you are "really passionate about going to emory" you might want to apply early decision or, if you can't do that, really bring out your desire to come to emory in the "why emory" essay. if you show them why they need you and that you bring something special to campus you might have a shot. good luck

If your native language is Russian, your CR SAT score should be taken in context -- assuming it's clear somewhere on the application that English is your second language. It wouldn't hurt to improve it if possible in a retaking, but I don't think SAT test scores alone would prevent Emory from considering your application seriously. Write some great essays and be sure Emory knows you are serious about Emory.

Any chance of catching the interest of the tennis coach? I realize that Emory is the DIII champ, so impressing the coach could be tough. But if you're good, that would be the way to go.

If there is any way you can visit, that would be helpful. Emory seems to put a lot of emphasis on stated interest. If a visit isn't possible, order the video and generally let your admissions counselor know that you are serious about the school.
