I unerstand that i dont have a very good gpa but i think with all of the extra work that do outside of school i can get in. People just have to understand a person like me who can ace any test but hates doing the busy work so that explains my C average.

GPA unweighted 2.8
SAT 2310
SAT II
Chemistry 800
Spanish 800
Math 2 790
ACT 35

I played football all four years and am the starting quarterback at my school and i think i can do well.

200 hrs of community service at a retirement home

Im half black and half hispanic, neither of my parents have gone to college i will be the first.

"just have to understand a person like me who can ace any test but hates doing the busy work so that explains my C average."

Harvard doesn't "Just have to understand" any of this. They turn away 90% of those who apply. Some with "perfect stats" who did all the "busy work"

ditto to the poster above. plus your teacher recs will reflect this lack of will to do so-called "busy work". a very bad smear on a decent application.

hmm i dont know.... lols you might get in you might not.. that 2.8 us really low.. and teh teachers might say your lazy... but i doubt you would send a recoomendation that says your lazy....

Umm...I'm gonna say you don't have much of a shot. The 2.8 is simply unacceptable. If it can't be explained with a legitimate reason (personal illness, family troubles etc.), it just shows that you are lazy. It doesnt matter if you are smart or not; it does not demonstrate responsibility. Harvard (or many other schools) doesn't want a kid who's very smart but does not do something because he (or she) has decided it is "busy" work. So what? Is that history paper at Harvard gonna be "busy work" too?

Maybe...just maybe if you can get recruited for football (don't know how good you are), then perhaps (again, just perhaps) you'll stand a chance. My recommendation would be to go somewhere else with your high test scores, learn some discipline, do well in school and try transferring.
