<p>Nowhere near enough data. For example, key missing data points would be race/ethnicity, socio-economics, geographic location, class rank, where similarly ranked students from that particular HS have been accepted, etc.</p>
<p>The basic stats you've listed would make your friend a plausible candidate. Many students with those stats are accepted to Amherst each year. Many are rejected.</p>
<p>If she's serious about Amherst, she should visit, do an overnight, meet as many people on campus as possible, learn everything she can about the school, and use that information to prepare a vibrant application demonstrating for her excitement about Amherst with specific reasons supporting a particularly good fit between her interests and what makes Amherst tick. Admissions at a school the size and quality of Amherst is a very personal endeavor. It's hard to look at a list of stats and say "yay" or "nay".</p>
<p>I agree with what interesteddad said completely. One thing that could help is softball. Is she at the level to be recruited for the amherst team? If so, that would be a big help.</p>
