chances?

25/500 rank, 4.3something gpa weighted... its pretty low unweighted, around 3.2 michigan gpa i think.
sat m770 v700 w690
satii math ic 750, math iic750, physics 730
ap: bio 4, us hisotry 4, physics c 4, calc b/c 4
alot of clubs i did for three or four years, no real leadership positions cept
math team captain, co-founder/vice president of future economists of america club
around 80 hours of comm service

nothing else really stands out except i skiped a grade in math so i'm taking two calc classes at university of hartford right now
... any chance for me?

that's gonna be tough. you got a great sat, but you're gpa is way too low. i think you'll get deferred and later accepted if you do well in your senior year.

thx for the input, and actually igot a 5 on the ap calc test, not that it really matters i hear?

well a class rank in top 10%, with that gpa will tell mich that your courseload was tough and your school, in general, was tough. the SAT score is very good for mich. it's a shame when some one like you gets passed over for some one with a 3.8 gpa, but only a 1900 SAT.

your gonna need to bump that gpa up a bit........but your sats are great soooo idk good luck

I think you are fine. Your SAT is 100 points above the Michigan mean, your class rank is in the top 5% and you took a bunch of challenging classes, including Calculus BC and Physics. Your unweighed GPA is low, but Michigan will look at your entire application.

so u think they'd at least defer me and wait for my senior scores worst case scenerio?

worst case - yeah probably

hey guys i sent my stuff in in late oct, looks like the last thing in was 10/27 on wolverine...and i still havent heard anything from umich. i took my sats again and this time got m800 v710 w660, do u guys think i'll get in or at least get a decision soon (whats taking them so long? a bunch of ppl who applied later than me got decisiosn already. i'd understand if they were really qualified and were easy accepts, but theres a bunch of ppl who applied later than me and got defered already)

... deferred : / what are my chances of getting in now

That unweighed GPA is killing you. You obviously go to an elite school. Your AP scores and SAT/SAT II scores are very good. Do your best this year. Try to raise that GPA as much as possible.

i'll send in my first qtr grades which were like 4 A's and two b+'s ... i'm guessing getting deferred means i have less chance to get in now then when they first viewed it?

Not at all. Your chances will be better, especially in view of your 4 As in 2 Bs. Don't sweat it...and send in your new SAT score. A 40 point improvement to over 1500 will only help.

yea they already have my sat scores... but hopefully the admission ppl will see that its just not fair to compare my gpa to someone whose school only offers a couple of honors classes... i mean pretty much all my classes except for gym and health were honors. i'm starting to think i should have just taken like all normal classes with just honors in math or something, i'd have like a 4.0 unweighed gpa

hey alexandre or someone else, when do u think i'd get a decision? does deferr mean they wait till the last momemnt b4 they tell me or is it possible i get it sonner. if i can get it sooner anyone want to guess at when i might get a decision??

bump. defer takes how longg???

It may not be until April or May.

is it possible to get it sooner tho?

Yes. I was deferred Mid-November, accepted Dec 15.

Chances are that IF you get accepted early after being deferred, it'll be Feburary...that's traditionally when the earliest deferred applicants hear back

ic...damn it thats a long time to wait
