hey, thanks for looking over some of my stufff. I'll just give some of the basics

Illinois resident

SAT II- will take in Nov-Math IIC, Bio, and World Hist
GPA- 3.75 in competitive university high school
No class ranking
Courses- all honors (no APs in school), very strong
Recs- should be excellent

If you need more stuff, ask

Is the GPA weighted or unweighted.

How about giving us a taste of your EC's?

GPA- unweighted (there are no weighted classes)
ECs I don't really have a large amount, but here are some-
Tennis (9-12)
Piano (4-12)
Anime Club (11,12)
Asian American Club (president, 10,11,12)
Kung Fu Club (11,12)
HISS "historical simulation society" it's pretty much playing Risk and stuff...(10,11,12)
Orchestra (9-11)

Awards-
Martin Luther King essay Honorable Mention (11)
AATG National Merit Winner (9,10)
Community Service Award from an Asian Association (10)
I'm pretty sure I'll be Commended too.

I think that's pretty much it

Commended by the College Board or the world in general?

Anime Club, that's fantastic.

Yeah man, you look pretty good, I think you look better than I did at least. Just present yourself as best as you can.

Your EC's are pretty weak so you should spend time making sure your essay is as good as possible.

iactually dont think his EC's are weak at all. I mean with some of the people on these chances/stats, it seems as though one needs to have found the cure to cancer in order to compete! Although it may seem he lacks a tad bit in leadership titles, he shows commitment in different fields of extra currics. And in terms of your numbers, it seems liek he's a pretty good fit.

LOL! Why does this fit right in with my mental image of U Chicago? When I think of intellectualism, I always think of Risk and Cranium. :p

Thanks a lot. Would you say that U Chicago or Northwestern is more competitive?

All I can say is that you're in as long as you don't write too bad of an essay.

They're looking for different types of students, so it's hard to say which school is more competitive.
